George B. "Bud" Nalley, Jr.
Managing Partner & Chairman
Bud Nalley, Jr., has spent more than six decades shaping South Carolina's retail landscape as Managing Partner and Chairman of Nalley Commercial Properties. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Clemson University, he didn't just build a business. He helped create communities across the Palmetto State, one grocery-anchored retail center at a time.
Bud has led commercial development projects in nearly every county in South Carolina, a testament to both his business savvy and his genuine care for the state's economic growth. Today, he leverages that hands-on experience to provide strategic leadership across planning, finance, and investment operations, actively guiding the company he has spent decades building.
His influence extends well beyond real estate. Bud served as Director and Chairman of The Peoples Bancorporation and was appointed South Carolina Ambassador for Economic Development by Governor Mark Sanford in 2005. He also applied his leadership as the former Chairman of the Pickens County Economic Alliance.
His contributions have earned significant recognition. Bud received the Easley Chamber of Commerce Businessman Award in 1995 and South Carolina's highest civilian honor, the Order of the Palmetto, in 2014—recognition that reflects a lifetime of meaningful contribution to his community and state.
Bud stays connected to his industry through active memberships in the International Council of Shopping Centers, Society of International Business Fellows, and Easley Rotary Club.
Faith has always been central to his leadership, reflected in his current service as an Elder at Easley Presbyterian Church. He also served as a member of the Foundation Board for Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina, and as Chairman of the Finance Committee and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Presbyterian Home of South Carolina.
Bud lives in Easley, South Carolina, and was married to the late Anita Lesley Nalley. He is the proud father of three children and enjoys building a family legacy with ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
